Salvation Is By Faith Alone In Christ Jesus!!!!! He Alone Will Make Us Ready!!!!!

And said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! Revelation 6:16

Salvation Is Only By Grace Through Faith In Christ Jesus!!

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:1-10

They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.Revelation 22:4.

They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” Revelation 7:16-17.

All Things Made New

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:1-5

Jesus Himself Will Work Out Our Salvation Inside Us Through The Holy Spirit!!

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13

Christ Jesus Has Made Me Free

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.Romans 8:1-5.

Jesus Is Our Everything!!

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.1 Corinthians 1:30-31

Christ Crucified

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2.

Wonderful Things God has revealed To Us Through His Spirit!!

However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it is written:

“ Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:6-10.

Jesus wants Friendship with Us!!!

It Is The Work Of Jesus Alone To Transform Us and Make Us Like Him!!!

Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2Corinthians 3:12-18

The Importance of Watching

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:34-36.

A Shaking of the Solar System!!

One day very soon, people will see the Son of Man Coming with “power and great glory”. Then there will be a huge cosmic explosion in the solar system like never before! With that cosmic shaking Jesus Will Appear!!

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end Matthew 24:29-31

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come! Matthew 24:42.

The time of preparation for that awesome event is now, NOT when the cosmic signs are taking place!!!!

WHAT CAN I DO BE READY FOR THE COMING OF JESUS?

It is all about Jesus and a personal intimate relationship with Him!! He wants Friendship and Love. When you can trust Jesus with your entire life, then you are ready to be with Him forever and ever!! And That’s It!!

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3.

IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO FIGHT SIN!! WE ARE TO LOOK TO JESUS AND ONLY JESUS!!

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.12:2.

Jesus invites us all to come to Him!! Will you come now?

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17.

We tend to make Salvation very complicated and unattainable with our own ideas and theories. The fact is it’s very simple to be Saved!!
When I can trust Jesus with my life, then I am saved. It’s that simple!!!

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Romans 5:1-2,10-11.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13.

The fact is Jesus wants to come inside you through the Holy Spirit and live out His victory in you!! Praise God!!

Contemplate these encouraging words:

The Christian life is a battle and a march. But the victory to be gained is not won by human power. The field of conflict is the domain of the heart. The battle which we have to fight–the greatest battle that was ever fought by man–is the surrender of self to the will of God, the yielding of the heart to the sovereignty of love.
We cannot, of ourselves, conquer the evil desires and habits that strive for the mastery. We cannot overcome the mighty foe who holds us in his thrall. God alone can give us the victory. He desires us to have the mastery over ourselves, our own will and ways. But He cannot work in us without our consent and co-operation. The divine Spirit works through the faculties and powers given to man. Our energies are required to co-operate with God. MB 141

You are not able, of yourself, to bring your purposes and desires and inclinations into submission to the will of God; but if you are “willing to be made willing,” God will accomplish the work for you, even “casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5. Then you will “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12, 13 MB 142

HERE IS REALLY GREAT NEWS!!!

“He will swallow up death forever,
And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the LORD has spoken.

And it will be said in that day:

“ Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the LORD;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:8-9

Prayer Choice And Prayer Conflict– Daily Devotion By Oswald Chambers

“When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and pray to thy Father which is in secret.” Matthew 6:6

Jesus did not say – Dream about thy Father in secret, but pray to thy Father in secret. Prayer is an effort of will. After we have entered our secret place and have shut the door, the most difficult thing to do is to pray; we cannot get our minds into working order, and the first thing that conflicts is wandering thoughts. The great battle in private prayer is the overcoming of mental wool-gathering. We have to discipline our minds and concentrate on wilful prayer.

We must have a selected place for prayer and when we get there the plague of flies begins – This must be done, and that. “Shut thy door.” A secret silence means to shut the door deliberately on emotions and remember God. God is in secret, and He sees us from the secret place; He does not see us as other people see us, or as we see ourselves. When we live in the secret place it becomes impossible for us to doubt God, we become more sure of Him than of anything else. Your Father, Jesus says, is in secret and nowhere else. Enter the secret place, and right in the centre of the common round you find God there all the time. Get into the habit of dealing with God about everything. Unless in the first waking moment of the day you learn to fling the door wide back and let God in, you will work on a wrong level all day; but swing the door wide open and pray to your Father in secret, and every public thing will be stamped with the presence of God.

 “Blessed are the poor in spirit.” Matthew 5:3

The New Testament notices things which from our standards do not seem to count. “Blessed are the poor in spirit,” literally – Blessed are the paupers – an exceedingly commonplace thing! The preaching of to-day is apt to emphasize strength of will, beauty of character – the things that are easily noticed. The phrase we hear so often, Decide for Christ, is an emphasis on something Our Lord never trusted. He never asks us to decide for Him, but to yield to Him – a very different thing. At the basis of Jesus Christ’s Kingdom is the unaffected loveliness of the commonplace. The thing I am blessed in is my poverty. If I know I have no strength of will, no nobility of disposition, then Jesus says – Blessed are you, because it is through this poverty that I enter His Kingdom. I cannot enter His Kingdom as a good man or woman, I can only enter it as a complete pauper.

The true character of the loveliness that tells for God is always unconscious. Conscious influence is priggish and un-Christian. If I say – I wonder if I am of any use – I instantly lose the bloom of the touch of the Lord. “He that believeth in me, out of him shall flow rivers of living water.” If I examine the outflow, I lose the touch of the Lord.

Which are the people who have influenced us most? Not the ones who thought they did, but those who had not the remotest notion that they were influencing us. In the Christian life the implicit is never conscious, if it is conscious it ceases to have this unaffected loveliness which is the characteristic of the touch of Jesus. We always know when Jesus is at work because He produces in the commonplace something that is inspiring.

Sin’s Power Broken

Sin’s Power Broken

By Pastor Dennis Smith

We saw in the previous post that the power of our sinful nature is so strong that it is impossible for us to become free from its control by our own efforts.  In Romans chapter seven Paul described the futility of the Christian trying to obey God’s commands that the Holy Spirit has put in his heart to obey.  Many sincere Christians don’t realize this.  So they continually put forth efforts to overcome the sins and temptations in their life asking God to add His power to their efforts.  However, because of their sinful nature’s power these efforts ultimately fail.  As a result they become discouraged, frustrated, bewildered and even question at times if they are really a Christian.

Sin’s Power Broken at the Cross

There are many aspects to the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  One of the aspects of the gospel is that at the cross the power of the sinful nature was broken for all who accept Christ and believe.  Paul described it this way:

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin… Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:6, 11

When Jesus died on the cross the power of the sinful nature in every believer’s life was broken.  That is an historical fact.  However, it becomes a reality in the Christian’s life only if he believes it is true.

This means that the unloving you, the unforgiving you, the angry you, the lustful you, the anxious you; the list could go on and on, died at the cross.  That is wonderful news.  It means that you do not have to be controlled by your unloving attitudes, unforgiveness, anger, lustful thoughts and desires, etc.  The power of these sinful desires, attitudes and behaviors is broken.

A Wrong Conclusion

The problem most Christians encounter when they read these Bible verses is that they conclude they should then be able to obey God with His help.  For example, consider the Christian who has a struggle with anger.  He reasons that if the power of his sinful anger was broken at the cross he can now stop being angry when something happens to cause him to become angry.  He feels great relief and confident that now he will finally have the victory.  Soon something happens to cause him to feel anger.  Perhaps someone cuts him off while driving or someone says something very unkind to him.  Immediately anger arises.  He puts forth efforts to subdue it.  However, he finds that it keeps lingering.  He turns his mind away from the event or words that caused the anger.  He tries to reason with himself about not being angry over the situation.  Sometimes he can move on and the anger leaves, and other times it seems to linger.  When he sees the person who spoke unkind or critical words he still feels anger well up in him.  He doesn’t want these feelings, but seems helpless to get rid of them.  He begins questioning himself about why anger is still arising in his feelings.  He concludes that he must not have asked God or received from God enough of His power to assist him in his efforts to over come the anger.  So he pleads with God to remove the anger, to give him the power needed; to give him the victory.  He re-reads the Bible verses about the death of his sinful nature’s power and such verses as “I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.” (Philippians 4:13).  He feels sure now that the next time he will be ready for the temptation and will gain the victory.  However, he continues to experience the same pattern of being overcome by his besetting sins.  More confusion and feelings of defeat set in.  Again he questions his sincerity and has no peace in his walk with the Lord.

It is very true that the power of our sinful nature was broken at the cross.  However, this does not mean that if we now believe this we can then begin obeying God by putting forth efforts to do so.  We might conclude that all we have to do is believe that sin’s power is broken in our life and face the temptations that come our way with that attitude.  However, such faith and knowledge alone will not give us the victory we desire.

The truth that the power of our sinful nature is broken is very important for us to know and believe.  However, remember, we have no ability in and of ourselves to obey God even though the overwhelming influence of our sinful nature was broken at the cross. Simply knowing and believing that truth is not enough.   No, there is only one way we will have the victory we long for.  The victory over temptation and sin will take place in our lives only as we believe the truth of the crucifixion of our sinful nature, and also allow Christ to give us the victory; His victory.  We must understand that we will be victorious over sin and temptation only as we allow Him to live out His life in us.  This is the essential experience discussed in the following posts.

The Sabbath”Rest”Is God’s Love- A Brief Bible Study

Posted on: 9 Comments

What would lead God to set a limit to His creative activity and mark the occasion by hallowing the seventh day?

Clearly by ceasing His creation, the Creator stoops to the level of His creatures because God’s heart desire is to be with His creation. The relation marker becomes clear! This is true because God is love! And God’s love “does not seek its own” 1Corinthians 13:5, NKJV “is not self-seeking” 1Corinthians 13:5, NIV or “never seeks its own advantage or does not insist on its own way ” 1Corinthians 13:5

Indeed, the reason why He refrains from further activity on the seventh day is that He has found the object of His love and has no need for any further works!

This is a staggering thought. On the one hand, God’s love thus magnifies human value, showing forth in bold print the worth of human beings to God! On the other hand, the seventh day thus understood brings God’s love into focus at Creation, placing love at the front and center of God’s character and activity from the very beginning.

In the New Testament John makes love the centerpiece of his description of God. “Whoever does not love, does not know God, for God is love. 1John 4:8. Love is God’s defining attribute from the beginning. From first to last love is the wellspring from which all other actions radiate and around all else unites.

What is most important about God at Creation is that God is love. 1John 4:16. God ceases from working on the seventh to enjoy the company of the person God has created. It is as if we hear God speaking, “I am ceasing on the seventh day not only that you may acknowledge and love me, but in order to make it known that I recognize and love you.

I pray that the lost meaning of The Sabbath will come alive in your heart right now and cause you to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

God’s Promises Are Awesome- A Brief Bible Study

Posted on: 4 Comments

Photo courtesy of Pr Lloyd Grolimund Who Is Pastor At  Wahroonga Seventh-day Adventist Church Sydney Australia

God always keeps his promises. It’s in the Bible, II Corinthians 1:19-20, NKJV. “For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us”

God never takes back or changes His promises. It’s in the Bible, Psalm 89:34. “No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back one word of what I said.”

None of God’s promises ever fail. It’s in the Bible, Joshua 23:14, NIV. “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.”

We have been promised eternal life. It’s in the Bible, I John 2:25, NIV. “And this is what he promised us—even eternal life.”

God can do the impossible. It’s in the Bible, Luke 18:27, NIV. “Jesus replied, ‘What is impossible with men is possible with God.'”

We have been promised new hearts and desires. It’s in the Bible, Ezekiel 36:26. “And I will give you a new heart—I will give you new and right desires—and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love.”

He has promised forgiveness. It’s in the Bible, I John 1:9, NIV. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

God promises our sins will be far removed from us. It’s in the Bible, Psalm 103:12, NKJV. “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

We are promised that our sins will be buried. It’s in the Bible, Micah 7:19, NKJV. ” He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

He has promised the fruit of the Spirit. It’s in the Bible, Galatians 5:22-23, NIV. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

He has promised deliverance from fear. It’s in the Bible, Psalm 34:4, NIV. “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.”

God has promised salvation for our children. It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 49:25, NIV. “I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.”

We are promised the Holy Spirit. It’s in the Bible, Luke 11:13, NIV. “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

All of our needs will be supplied. It’s in the Bible, Philippians 4:19, NIV. “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

No good thing will be withheld. It’s in the Bible, Psalm 84:11. “For Jehovah God is our Light and our Protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk along his paths.”

He has promised wisdom. It’s in the Bible, James 1:5, NIV. “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

God has promised peace. It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 26:3, NIV. “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.”

God has promised escape from temptation. It’s in the Bible, I Corinthians 10:13, NIV. “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

We have the promise of health and healing. It’s in the Bible, Jeremiah 30:17, NIV. “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds.”

God has promised protection from harm and danger. It’s in the Bible, Psalm 91:10, NIV. “Then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.”

The Bible promises that the dead will live again. It’s in the Bible, John 5:28-29, NIV. “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.”

Jesus has promised that he will come again. It’s in the Bible, John 14:2-3. “There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with Me where I am.”

He has promised an end to death, sorrow, and pain. It’s in the Bible, Revelation 21:4, NIV. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

God fulfills His promises because God Is Faithful! Psalm 36:5-7, 1John 1:9, Revelation 22:20.

WELL WORTH THE READ!!

28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
4 Trust in the LORD forever,
For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.Isaiah 26:3-4.

But Israel shall be saved by the LORD
With an everlasting salvation;
You shall not be ashamed or disgraced
Forever and ever. Isaiah 45:17.

1 “Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness,
You who seek the LORD:
Look to the rock from which you were hewn,
And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.
2 Look to Abraham your father,
And to Sarah who bore you;
For I called him alone,
And blessed him and increased him.”
3 For the LORD will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of the LORD;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.
4 “ Listen to Me, My people;
And give ear to Me, O My nation:
For law will proceed from Me,
And I will make My justice rest
As a light of the peoples.
11 So the ransomed of the LORD shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness;
Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 51:1-4,11.

With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,”
Says the LORD, your Redeemer. Isaiah 54:8.

Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
The sure mercies of David. Isaiah 55:3.

From the sole of the foot even to the head,
There is no soundness in it,
But wounds and bruises and putrefying sores;
They have not been closed or bound up,
Or soothed with ointment. Isaiah 1:6.

The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying:

Is there no physician there?
Why then is there no recovery
For the health of the daughter of my people? Jeremiah 8:22.

Save me, and I shall be saved,
For You are my praise. Jeremiah 17:14.

I will also lead him,
And restore comforts to him
And to his mourners.

Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,”
Says the LORD,

“ And I will heal him.” Isaiah 57:18-19.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:11-14.

For I will restore health to you

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.. Ephesians 2:4-8.

1. Jesus is my Lawyer. My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate (Lawyer) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.1John 2:1.
2. Jesus is my Judge. For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to The Son John 5:22.
3. Jesus is my assurance of Salvation. 1John 5:11-13 He who has the Son has life. I have “assurance” of salvation when I “trust” Jesus with my life, that’s it. John 3:16. Why not discover how God’s awesome love makes a real difference in your life.
4. How do I learn to trust Jesus? And this is eternal life, that they may know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3. I don’t have to worry about saving myself!
5. How do I get to know Jesus? Spend time with Jesus! Read God’s Word and pray. As I love I will know God. 1John 4:7-11, 20-21.
6. Great News:Jesus will save me! I don’t have to save myself!
7. Yes, I want to take more time , to really know & love Jesus

The last great work of the church before the end of time is to show a dying brutal world that God truly is love. My words could not adequately tell you about the difference God’s gentle awesome love will make in your life. The love of Jesus changes you. My heart is full of joy because of it! This is truly The Gospel proclaimed in Revelation 14!!

That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God… for God is love. 1John 4:7-8.

Our Only Hope Is “In Christ Jesus”-7

Posted on: No Comments

But now “In Christ Jesus” you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13.
The mystery of The Gospel has now been revealed which is: “Christ in you” the Hope of Glory. Colossians 1:27

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together “with Christ” (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places “in Christ Jesus”, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us “in Christ Jesus”. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:4-9. Colossians 3:1-4.

First, at the very core of the Gospel presentation is God’s agape love, unconditional, self-emptying and everlasting. Jeremiah states: “The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying:

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you”. Jeremiah 31:3.
This agape love is the very heart of The Gospel. Amazingly, God uses His creative power to draw us to His love. Romans 1:16-17, 20. Ephesians 2:1-6, Titus 3:3-5.

Secondly, still at the core of The Gospel, is the means of our salvation which is: “Christ in you” the hope of glory. The concept of “in Christ” is throughout all of Paul’s writings and is mentioned more than 160 times. Paul’s writing make up almost half of the New Testament and this exciting theology of “in Christ” is running through them all. We find the idea is expressed with slightly different wording such as “in Christ Jesus” or “in Him” or “by Him” or “through Him” or “in the Beloved” or “together with Him” “with Jesus” etc.

We have absolutely nothing as Christians except what we have received “in Christ Jesus”. Everything we enjoy, experience, and hope for as believers is ours “only in Christ”. “But of Him” “you are in Christ Jesus”, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD”.1Corinthians 1:30-31.It is all about Jesus and nothing we can do in the area of putting forth effort. I simply trust Jesus for His victory. Our only Hope is “in Christ Jesus” Alone!!

Jesus Himself first introduced the truth “in Christ Jesus”, when He told His followers,” Abide in Me” John 15:4. He further emphasized this truth by stating in verse 5: “Without Me you can do nothing”.

Abiding “in Christ” is the foundation of The Gospel experience. Abiding “in Him” is that persistent remaining right where we are “with Jesus” forever. In other words we choose to remain “with Jesus” trusting “in Him”. Abiding “in Christ” is trusting “in Jesus” with my life— completely. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You”. Isaiah 26:3. Our victory is attributed to God and God alone and nothing WE HAVE DONE OR WILL EVER DO. Christ is everything to the believer. Our victory is “in Him”. As long as I choose to remain “in Him” He will work out His victory inside me. Romans 8:3-4, 11.

What the New Testament means to be “in Christ”.

I. When Christ died, he died for all of humanity and all of humanity died with Him. Romans 4:23-25, Romans 5:15, 18. Paul uses the symbol of baptism to make his point. Colossians 2:12-13.

II. Likewise when Christ arose from the grave, all of humanity rose with Him. Hebrews 9:24-28. Hebrews 10:11-14. Romans 5:15-21.

III. Abiding “in Jesus”, is to remain on a continuous basis with Him. Because I remain “with Jesus” always, the Holy Spirit will then work out His victory inside me. Praise God!! John 15:4-11, Romans 8:3-4, 9-11. 2 Timothy 1:13-14, Colossians 1:26-27. “Christ in You” the Hope of Glory! Titus 3:3-8.

IV. When I am “in Christ” He transforms me into His image. 2 Corinthians 3:18. What does He transform? It’s my mind. Romans 12:1-2. The study of the mind, especially the hierarchy of the mind, will be pursued in future studies. It is “life changing” when we understand how God will make us just like Jesus and ready for His soon appearing. 1 John 3:1-2.

V. The Great News of The Gospel is a truth that applies to all humanity, but ONLY those who believe will actually be saved. John 3:16-21, 34-36. Not a single person will be lost from Heaven because He or She is a sinner, but because of unbelief- willful, persistent, and ultimate rejection of the Truth as it is “in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 4:21, John 3:18, 36, John 16:8-9, Mark 16:15-16, Hebrews 2:3, Hebrews 3:19, 4:1-3.

VI. “In Christ,” Jesus wants us to sit down and enjoy what He has already done for us. We are not to try to work at attaining these blessings. Once we trust Jesus with our life, He freely gives us all things which are bestowed “through Christ” and His Cross. We are forgiven by Trusting Jesus. We are made righteous by Trusting Jesus, we have eternal life by Trusting Jesus, and we are victorious over temptation and sin by Trusting Jesus. We are fully dependent on Jesus and not on our own efforts to obtain Salvation. The victory is attributed to God alone; not attributed to anything we have done or ever will do!! We simply Trust Jesus with our life and that’s it!!! 1Corinthains 1:30-31, 2:2. 1Thessalonians 5:23-24.

VII. The conclusion is simple: Being “in Christ” is everything for the Christian. When we learn to simply Trust Jesus with our life, we will gladly choose to allow Jesus to have complete control, period. Through The Holy Spirit, He will then come and abide “inside us” giving us His complete victory. He alone will transform us into His image. He alone will make us just like Jesus. He alone will work out His victory inside us. Truly then, we are “in Jesus”. It is far more difficult to be lost than to be saved!! John 3: 16-17,2Corinthians 3:18, 1John 3:2, 1John 5:11-13. Praise God for His indescribable Gift for all who trust Jesus with their life. Our effort is to choose to abide “in Jesus” and know Him. John 15:4-7, 19-17. John 17:3.

The wonderful good news of The Gospel is that just as all are condemned to death by one man Adam, so God has redeemed all in one man Jesus Christ. In reality, Jesus became us, and we became one “in Him”. How awesome is that? John 17: 20-26.

So, by His perfect life, which met the positive demands of the law, and His sacrificial death, which met the justice of the law, Christ re-wrote our human history. And in His resurrection, He changed humanity’s status from one of “condemnation” to one of “peace with God”. This is what constitutes the extravagant Good News of The Gospel!! 1Corinthians 1:30-31, Ephesians 1:3-6; 2:5, 6.

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift to every human being! 2 Corinthians 9:15. Praise God for the Never Failing Love of Jesus!!

The good news of The Gospel of Christ is a truth that applies to all humanity, but, only those who believe will actually be saved. The saved are those who trust Jesus with their lives!! The saved are those who know Jesus intimately. The saved know Jesus by experience. The saved love God with all their heart’s and loves others like themselves. Romans 3:26. This is the truth Jesus wants to live out in your life!

When we are “in Christ Jesus” He will manifest Himself in and through us. This is why there is no fear, anxiety, worry or burden abiding “in Christ Jesus”. It’s all about Jesus. We simply allow Him to do these things in and through us!

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.Hebrews 2:17
