He Will Manifest His Victory In And Through Us!! Praise God!!

Posted on: 22 Comments

We have the “assurance” of salvation when we “trust” Jesus with our lives, that’s it.  Once we trust Jesus, He, our great Heavenly Physician, will perfectly heal and restore us, thus our assurance is in Jesus, not in ourselves or our future. Salvation is Now!!   1John 5:11-13,   1 John 3:2,   John 17:3

Be Enlightened

In short, whatever attitudes or behavior the Lord asks us to exhibit He will manifest in and through us if we choose to let Him and believe He will.  This requires us to be aware of the attitudes and behaviors God wants us to exhibit.  We find this instruction in the Word of God. Such sections as Christ’s Sermon on the Mount clearly reveals to us God’s will for us in many situations of life.

The Sermon on the Mount sets the standard very high; impossibly high for us to attain by our own efforts no matter how hard we try.  This standard will be met only as Christ lives out this standard through us.  Paul actually points this out in his letter to the Romans.

“For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.  And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4 NIV

In these verses Paul tells us that it is impossible for sinful man to fulfill the righteous requirements of God’s law.  However, because Christ came in the flesh, obeyed the law perfectly and fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law He condemned sin breaking its power.  Therefore, through Christ the “righteous requirements of the law” can be “fully met in us” who do not yield to our sinful nature, but allow the Spirit to manifest obedience in us.

New Covenant Promise

What I am presenting in this chapter is how God fulfills the new covenant promise.  In the new covenant God says He will write His law on our hearts and minds (Hebrews 8:8-10).  Our part is to choose to allow Him to do it.  God foretold through the prophet Ezekiel that He would do this.

“Then I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” Ezekiel 36:25-27

The New Testament confirms this promise in such texts as the following:

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6

Note that it is God who “performs” this work.  Paul presents this same truth in his first letter to the Thessalonians.

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” 1Thessalonians 5:23-24

Again Paul is clear; it is God who does the sanctifying.  Our part is to choose to allow Him to perform that work within our spirit, soul and body.

Lighten Up

Every Christian who is not experiencing deliverance from temptation through Christ, but is trying to do it through their own efforts asking God to add His power to their efforts is not experiencing the “light burden” Jesus is referring to in Matthew 11:28-29.  Instead, their life is weighed down with frustration, bewilderment, and feelings of defeat.  Jesus calls us to come to Him with this burden.  If you learn how to do that you will find “rest,” and your walk with the Lord will become much “easier” and “lighter.”  Why; because Jesus is giving you His victory and you are resting in Him.

Before I came to personally understand and experience the reality of abiding in Christ and allowing Him to manifest Himself in and through me I did not understand these words of Christ.  For me the Christian life was a burden and obedience was not easy.  Once I came to understand and experience Christ’s abiding presence then I found His words to be true – “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  He offers the same abiding experience to all who believe in Him.

Stay in Touch

This kind of victory in Christ requires us to be in moment-by-moment communion with Him.  Remember what David wrote, “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).  David knew the necessity of the Lord being “always before him.”  We must not let our communion with Jesus be broken.

We can also see that the victory Jesus is offering requires a moment-by-moment surrender to Him.  Whenever a temptation comes we must surrender it to Him no matter how much we have enjoyed yielding to it in the past.  Complete 100 percent surrender is the only way to complete 100 percent victory.

Not “Our Job” To Point Out The Faults Of Others!

Posted on: 3 Comments

It is not “our job” to point out the faults of others. However, too often, we feel it is ‘our duty” to do so. When God called us to be “fishers of men” He did not say “clean the fish!” Many who make it their job to point out the faults of others-will lose their own souls because they are so blinded by their own “self-righteousness.”

And by the way, The Bible Sabbath is a “Sign” that Jesus is changing us making us more like Jesus! Consider these Bible Verses: Exodus 31:13,17  Ezekiel 20:12,20Hebrews 4:4,10, 1John 3:1,2

Jesus said  “Judge not, that you be not judged.  For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.  And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:1-3

Wow pretty straight talk don’t you think?

And consider this:  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved”. God’s love is always “Other Centered”!! If we allow Him inside us, He will make us just like Jesus!! 1John 3:1,2

I am so thankful Jesus  is focused on saving us rather than condemning us! In fact God does no judging at all but has left that task to His Son, Jesus, who wants to save all of us. John 5:22.

Jesus Alone Saves me- Period! There is nothing I can add to the equation. It’s all Jesus!

But when I think I have to save my self, an interesting set of events takes place.

It goes something like this: The effort to earn salvation by one’s own works inevitable leads men to pile up human exaction’s as a barrier against sin.  For, seeing that they fail to keep the law, they will devise rules and regulations of their own to force themselves to obey.  All this turns the mind away from God to self.  His love dies out of the heart, and with it perishes love for his fellow men.  A system of human invention, with its multitudinous exaction’s, will lead its advocates to judge all who come short of the prescribed human standard.  The atmosphere of selfish and narrow criticism stifles the noble and generous emotions, and causes men to become self-centered judges and petty spies.

“Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts.”                      1 Corinthians 4:5.  We cannot read the heart.  Ourselves faulty, we are not qualified to sit in judgment upon others.  Finite men can judge only from outward appearance.  To Him alone who knows the secret springs of action, and who deals tenderly and compassionately,  is it given to decide the case of every soul.

“Thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest; for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself, for thou that judgest doest the same things.”  Romans 2:1.  Thus those who condemn or criticize others,  proclaim themselves guilty, for they do the same things.  In condemning others, they are passing sentence upon themselves, and God declares that this sentence is just.  He accepts their own verdict against themselves.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! Galatians 5:13-15

You are not able, of yourself, to bring your purposes and desires and inclinations into submission to the will of God; but is you are “willing to be made willing,” God will accomplish the work for you, even “casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”  2 Corinthians 10:5.   Then you will “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”  Philippians 2:12, 13.

Praise God that He is the one who is changing us by His Holy Spirit!! 2Corinthians 3:18, 1Thessalonians 5:23,24

So then, First of all, Jesus is our Judge John 5:22. Secondly, Jesus represents us in the Judgment! In other words Jesus is our attorney! 1John 2:1 and Jesus wants to save all of us! Now what kind of a deal is that!!! All I can say is Praise God!! John 3:16-17, 2Peter 3:9.

Eileen Becker Loving Mother and Best Friend—My Fabulous Mother-in Law

Recently Jerry Becker was talking to his mom Eileen. During the course of their conversation Eileen mentioned that she was very tired.  Concerned for his mom, Jerry simply asked: why are you so tired mom? Well she replied, I just baked about 12 angel food cakes. Now Eileen is a wonderful baker and fabulous cook. Folks would do most anything to get a hold of one those angel food cakes—Especially the chocolate! (My favorite) She can make anything taste sooo good!! Back to those 12 angel food cakes. “Mom what are doing with all those angel food cakes Jerry asked?” “Oh I am just making them for the old people! “Eileen responded. It just so happens that Eileen just turned 95. Apparently that’s still young!! Wow what a positive attitude and what a ministry!! We just recently celebrated her birthday. It was an awesome spiritual experience to say the least!

Eileen has always ministered to others and loves people!! She is an absolutely awesome person whom I love very much!  Eileen is my precious mother-in law who treats me as though I was her natural born son!

Eileen penned the poem that follows. It certainly reveals the depth of her relationship with Jesus! She loves Jesus and her family with all of her heart!!

Enjoy!!

GOD’S CARE

I WAS WALKING DOWN THE ROAD OF LIFE

NOT LOOKING EITHER WAY,

NOT GLANCING UP TO SEE THE THINGS

THAT GOD HAD MADE THAT DAY.

I COULDN’T SEE GOD’S FACE,

NOR SEE QUITE CLEARLY AS I WALKED

HOW HE SAVED ME BY HIS GRACE.

I STRUGGLED WITH EACH PASSING DAY

TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEET,

WHEN LOW, I HEARD A MELLOW VOICE,

“COME SIT HERE AT MY FEET.”

I PAUSED A MOMENT LOOKING ROUND

TO SEE WHO SPOKE TO ME,

WHEN ON MY PATH A PICTURE CAME OF JESUS FACE I SEE.

IT LOOKED AS THO HE REALLY SPOKE

HIS COUNTENANCE QUITE SERENE,

THOSE LOVELING EYES LOOKED DOWN ON ME,

SENDING MESSAGES OF HOPE SUPREME.

I GAZED UPON THAT LOVELY FACE,

AND SAW THROUGH YEARS OF TIME.

HOW HE DIED ON THE CROSS

TO SAVE US FROM SIN,

AND PREPARE A HOME ABOVE, WHICH IS YOURS AND MINE.

I SAT THERE FOR HOURS, IT SEEMED AT LEAST,

ENJOYING THE CLOSENESS OF CHRIST,

ABSORBING HIS STRENGTH AND CALMNESS WITHIN

AND MOST OF ALL HIS GLORY AND GRACE.

I SAW THINGS DIFFERENTLY AS I WALKED ALONG

EACH DAY IS GOD’S GIVEN TIME,

PRAISE GOD! FOR THE WONDERFUL CARE HE GIVES,

AND THE RICHNESS OF GLORY SUBLIME.

How is your relationship with Jesus? Simply trust and Love Jesus with your whole heart.

I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. John 17:23

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.  John 3:16-17

It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:26

And always remember that God loves you just like He love His Son Jesus!!

I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. John 17:23

God Loves You Just Like He Loves His Son Jesus!

The one thing above all others that Christ is desirous that we should know is that The Father has loved us even as He loved Him!
