Interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren

Posted on: No Comments

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren , Rick said:

People ask me, What is the purpose of life?
And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were
not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.

One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body–
but not the end of me.
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions
of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act – the dress rehearsal..
God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.

We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life
isn’t going to make sense.

Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you’re just
coming out of one, or you’re getting ready to go into another one.

The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character
than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than
He is in making your life happy.

We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that’s not the goal of
life. The goal is to grow in character,in Christ likeness.

This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the
toughest, with my wife, Kay , getting cancer.

I used to think that life was hills and valleys – you go through a dark
time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don’t believe
that anymore.

Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it’s kind of
like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something
good and something bad in your life.

No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something
bad that needs to be worked on.

And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something
good you can thank God for..

You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:

If you focus on your problems, you’re going into self-centeredness,
which is my problem, my issues, my pain.’ But one of the easiest ways to
get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and
others.

We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of
thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for
her. It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened
her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a
testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.

You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.

Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For
instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million
copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.

It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with
before. I don’t think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego
or for you to live a life of ease..

So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety
and influence.

First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our
lifestyle one bit.. We made no major purchases.

Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from
the church.

Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace
Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the
sick, and educate the next generation.

Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since
I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be
able to serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions?
Popularity?

Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or
am I going to be driven by God’s purposes (for my life)?

When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God,
if I don’t get anything else done today, I want to know You more and
love You better. God didn’t put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do
list. He’s more interested in what I am than what I do.

That’s why we’re called human beings, not human doings.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

If you do not pass it on, nothing will happen.

But it might be nice to pass it on to a friend….just like I have done.

God Bless,

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.2 Timothy 3:16,17.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15.

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3

SIN – LAW – LOVE- 2

Posted on: No Comments

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path”. Psalm 119:105

Please go to the end of this study guide for a question.
Please leave a comment and state your opinion!!

1. What is sin?
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law:
For sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4 KJV
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness and sin
Is lawlessness 1 John 3:4 NKJ
2. Now how would you define sin? Sin is not loving and believing in God.
3. What is the law?
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all
Your Soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the
First commandment. And the second, like it, is this: you shall love your
Neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12: 30-31
Paul says “ Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who
Loves another has fulfilled the law. “Love does no harm to a neighbor there-
fore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10.
See Revelation 12:17, Revelation 14:12
Paul further states: “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even this: you shall
love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14
At the most basic level the law can be summed up in one word love.
Love is the same word John used to sum up the character of God. 1John 4:8
God is love Therefore the law is love. 1John 4:8
4. Did Eve sin when she took the fruit or before she took the fruit?
Genesis 3:1 Eve doubted God’s word.
Genesis 3:2-4. Eve started doubting that God means what He says.
Genesis 3:6 Eve in actuality focused her love on herself rather than on God.
This is the core of sin. Sin is Rebellion against God.
5. So when did Eve Sin?
When she loved herself and her desire more than she
loved God and His will.
She placed love for something (fruit) and someone (herself)
before her love for God. See 2Timothy 4:9
Sin then is not loving or believing God. See John 16:7-9
Romans 14:23, Hebrews 3:12, 14, Hebrews 4: 2-3, 10-11.
Sin leads to all manner of sins. See 1 John 3:4.
Even if I change all my behavior, in the end I am still a sinner!! Romans 3:23.
Different views of Sin lead to radically different roads to salvation.
Sin is about my rebellion against God, about my relationship with Him!! God wants all of me not just part!! “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me”. Revelation 3:20
God’s Judgment is to determine the one who has faith in Jesus Romans 3:26
We will be Judged on how we treat one another
Matthew 25:31-46

Do you think the following thought is correct??
Please reply and leave your comments:

Jesus is righteous. If Jesus is in you, then His righteousness is in you.
Therefore you are righteous!!!

The Final Message of Jesus

1.“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven having the Everlasting
Gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth”. Revelation 14:6
“The Gospel clearly causes the end to come”. Matthew 24:14
Jesus says “Repent and Believe in the Gospel” Mark 1:15
The Gospel is the Power of God. Romans 1:16.
2. The Gospel defined: “Christ died for our sins according to the
scripture and that He was buried and that He rose again
1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Christ is the Power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24. Christ is the Gospel.
3. The mystery of the Gospel is Christ in you the Hope of Glory.
Colossians 1:27 See: Ephesians 6:19, Ephesians 3:3-7.
4. The Gospel is Christ in us and the sharing of the Gospel is making known to
others the possibility of Christ dwelling in them. AMEN!!
“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth will draw all
peoples to myself”. John 12: 32.
5. The message of the Gospel is Earth’s final saving message of hope.
Why is the coming of Jesus taking so long?
Do not harm the Earth, the Sea, or the Trees till we have sealed.
the servants of God on their foreheads Revelation 7:3
See Rev.9:4 and 1Corinthians 2:2
6. Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one
hundred and forty-four thousand having His Father’s Name

written on their foreheads. Revelation 14:1
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who
sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap for the time has come for
You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe. So He who
Sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was
reaped. Revelation 14: 15, 16.
7. God is calling us to a saving relationship.
“I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, that the world
may know that You have sent me and have loved them as You have
loved me”.
“And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love
with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” John 17:23,26.

When we cease to worry about the future, and begin to believe that God loves us,
and means to do us good, we shall trust him as a child trusts a loving parent.
Then our troubles and torments will disappear, and our will, will be swallowed up
in the will of God.
Jesus is About to Come!! Praise His Name!!

Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to
preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue,
and people— saying with
a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His
…judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea
and springs of water.”Revelation 14:6-7

I am The Way The Truth and The Life

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-14

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
